About Meerkat Press is pleased to issue a call for submissions of poems for an anthology to be called My Cruel Invention. Poems may be about real or imagined inventions, as well as real or fictional inventors. The anthology will be edited by Bernadette Geyer, author of The Scabbard of Her Throat and What Remains. Throughout history, there have been terrible inventions created for unthinkable evils, as well as wonderful inventions created to the benefit of society and the world. Many inventors were considered madmen or geniuses, or – quite often – both. Equally fascinating is the world of imagined inventions.
