About

Mental health is one of the worst issues for current, first world society in many ways. Those of us that have mental health conditions are made to feel as if we’re somehow deficient – that we’re damaged etc. The truth is, we’re just different. This anthology is to address the stigma that we all face, and is designed to support those in the mental health community. In this case, whether it’s a piece of fiction addressing what it’s really like to have a medically acknowledged illness, or a non-fiction piece that is supportive and uplifting, we’re interested. We DO NOT want pieces that deal with ‘suffering’, if at all possible. This is a SOCIAL project – 10% of all proceeds will be donated to ‘The Darkroom Foundation’ – a project founded by D Kai Wilson-Viola to provide exposure to fiction considered transgressive because it portrays mental health survivors as anything other than victims.
