About

In this companion book, queers dare to do what they do best: imagine new worlds into being. This anthology will feature poetry, short fiction, and non-fiction that purposefully play with the speculative, strange, and surreal from a uniquely queer perspective.

As we grapple with a grim political moment targeting queer and trans lives, our ability to dream is even more important. What new narratives for monsters, myths, utopias, ghosts, and multiverses can queers make happen? How might queer imaginations topple outdated scripts and structures? These stories, poems, and essays by emerging and celebrated authors will offer a special vantage point from which to reconsider our collective hopes and fears.

We are looking for work that envisions worlds beyond the edges of this one, where the weird explodes realism, where alternate histories impact the future, and where the most unexpected shapes become home.

We want writing that explores queers’ wildest dreams. Innovative writing that harnesses the power of the speculative to push against doom and fascism and showcases how the radical act of imagining can foster empathy, softening the human experience.
