Stories from the Hearth Anthology

A project of Woodland Press (see other related projects).

Permanently Closed: This project is permanently closed to submissions. We provide the following information as an archive.

About

This anthology will be published through Woodland Press, publishers of the Legends of the Mountain State series, the Stoker award-winning Writers Workshop of Horror, and my anthology Mountain Magic: Spellbinding Tales of Appalchia. This anthology is a bit different from the others published by Woodland Press. Where most have been spooky campfire stories, this anthology will collect inspiring, heartwarming stories. Rural fairytales, in a matter of speaking, that are both entertaining and meaningful. I am looking for stories with a strong Appalachian flavor. Tall tales, humorous stories, touching stories. Although I am looking for original themes, I will accept retellings of a traditional story if the author can give it a unique spin and makes it their own.
