About

Throughout superhero lore, LGBT subtext has been rampant. The increase in superheroes and villains in pop culture has reached an apex, and gay, lesbian, bi and transgender superheroes are getting more and more acceptance/buzz. We would like to create an anthology of short stories that deal with these heroes and their counterparts. Who are these heroes? What are these heroes? And how did they come to be? How do they move through society, and how does their personal experience color the way they interact with the world? Likewise, we always think that villains get the short end of the stick. How do they move through their communities? How do they feel about the heroes that plague their efforts? Or a society that disapproves (perhaps rightly so) of them? Stories may twist the tropes though. Stalwarts heroes don’t have to be so good. Villains can have been right all along. Anti-heroes can be whatever they want. Tropes have been inversed by popular culture so much that anything that adds new approaches and views to the conversation is valued. NOTE: We are looking for stories that involve created heroes, not already existing products of other companies (Superman, Batman, the X-Men, etc). Similarities have to be separate enough to avoid litigation.
