The Vanishing: Tales of When Magic Fades

A project of Chipper Press (see other related projects).

Permanently Closed: This project is permanently closed to submissions (March 2020). We provide the following information as an archive.

About

Chipper Press is looking for short stories that feature fully developed magical worlds. We want these stories to be middle-grader appropriate. Scary is good-but please watch the language. The stories we are looking for will show us what happens at the end of magic. Do the magical realms fade away out of existence forever? Or do they blend into another reality? When science becomes the focus of society, what happened to the magic? What about the magical races? Do they just fade away or become something else? Show our readers why and how the magic fades, more showing than telling, please. Our readers want to see the action.
