About

A quick Google search will yield hundreds of vintage advertisements that are shocking, weird, and downright funny when viewed with our contemporary eye. Ads promoting diet plans involving the ingestion of sanitized tapeworms, products containing cocaine and heroin, frog farms, the old Joe Atlas workout programs, Sea Monkeys, and all manner of strange foods and household items can be found. For this anthology, we are seeking stories and poems that use one or more of these vintage ads as the inspiration or prompt. Submissions can be horror, science fiction, fantasy, or crime fiction. They can also be a mashup of two or more genres.
