The Fitzcarraldo Editions/Mahler & LeWitt Studios Essay Prize is an annual competition for unpublished writers. Initially made possible by an Arts Council Grant in 2015, the prize is awarded to the best proposal for a book-length essay.

No Fees! This contest does not charge mandatory fees.
Important: Submit a proposal and writing sample for a book-length essay (min. 25,000 words).
Limited Demographic: Submissions are restricted to unpublished writers residing in Great Britain and Ireland.
