Glossy Planet Literary Magazine

About

Glossy Planet is a fast-moving, challenge-style lit mag for writers who have something to say—right now. Each call responds to the world in real time, inviting short, sharp, or strange work that meets the moment. We’re interested in impact over polish, urgency over perfection. Think: the literary version of a group chat, if your group chat included a bunch of excellent writers trying to make sense of it all.

We publish lists, dispatches, microessays, flash prose, poetry, and other quick-hit, genre-defying forms that sit at the intersection of creative expression and world events. We’re slick but sincere, heartfelt but never heavy-handed. If you’re writing in response to the world—and not retreating from it—we want to hear from you.

Fees Notice: This project charges fees (or requires purchases) for some submissions. They charge fees, except for special free submission periods.

Before Submitting

We cannot guarantee that the information on this page is correct. It is not unusual for publications to evolve or close without notice. We do our best to keep up, but it isn't always possible. Duotrope listings do not imply endorsement or recommendation of the project being listed. Before submitting, you should use your own judgment to determine whether the project meets your standards.

  • Always read the full guidelines provided by the publisher.
  • Try to read at least one previous publication to get a better idea of what the editor would like to see.
  • Unless the publisher's guidelines state otherwise, always use industry standard manuscript formatting.
  • Be professional, patient, and persistent.
