About

The Shooter Short Story Competition spotlights the best and brightest upcoming literary talent, with cash prizes and highlighted publication both in the pages of Shooter and online. Submissions to the magazine are usually confined to a particular theme, but the competition offers a chance to write about whatever writers find most compelling, in any style, genre and subject. All competition entrants will receive an e-copy of the contest issue, in which the winning story will appear. Shooter seeks imaginative, surprising, absorbing and beautifully written stories that bring characters to life and elicit an emotional response from the reader. In short, well written tales that appeal to both the head and the heart.

Fees Notice: This project charges fees (or requires purchases) for all submissions.
The fee range is GBP £8 to £12 (below average to average for contests).
