About

First Prize is the Elizabeth Sloan Tyler Memorial award, a one-week stay in the former artist's home in the legendary Hamptons of Long Island NY. The award is offered annually by Sandra Tyler, her daughter and founder of The Woven Tale Press, to honor her perseverance as an artist — Sandra believes her mother would appreciate her sharing her home with other artists and writers seeking time away for walks along the ocean, scenic bike rides to the bay, browsing her wide selection of art books, or reading and writing out in her sun room. The artist's ambient paintings hang throughout, inviting contemplation and and offering inspiration.
