Pine Hills Review About Named after the Pine Hills neighborhood in Albany, Pine Hills Review is an online literary journal with a national focus that publishes artful, honest, and compelling work by new and established writers, from fiction, nonfiction, and poetry to visual art, interviews, and experimental, cross-genre work. We love irreverent, fun, different, and surprising work that tries to do something new. Established in 2014 in association with The College of Saint Rose as part of its M.F.A. in creative writing program, Pine Hills Review was founded by Daniel Nester and then-student Sarah Sherman. After the M.F.A. program was discontinued, Pine Hills Review began a second iteration in 2019 as an independent online journal edited and published by Daniel Nester. In recent years, we have welcomed Alex J. Tunney, Sam Zimmerman, and others to the editorial board. In addition, students from The College of Saint Rose join the board occasionally as part of the Online Journal Editing and Publishing course. Other students join the board as part of a semester-long internship, from the college and elsewhere.
