About

Room is Canada’s oldest feminist literary magazine, published quarterly since 1975. Room publishes literature, art, and criticism by cis and trans women, trans men, Two-Spirit, and nonbinary people, and is committed to an intersectional feminist mandate centring 2SLGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and disabled voices. Open to Canadian and international submitters.

Fees Notice: This project charges fees (or requires purchases) for all submissions, except for people who select "inclusive access" when submitting. (Note: About 8% of magazines always charge fees.)
The fee range is CAD $3 to $5 (below average to average for magazines that charge).
Limited Demographic: Submissions are restricted to "folks of marginalized genders, including but not limited to women (cisgender and transgender), transgender men, Two-Spirit and nonbinary people." Book Reviews are limited to Canadians, and all submissions limited to Canadians in some submission periods.
Submission Caps: They may close to submissions early if they reach their quota.
