About

Five on the Fifth is an online literary magazine founded in 2015. On the fifth of each month, five selected pieces will be published on the magazine’s website, hence the name. Five on the Fifth’s main goal is to help up-and-coming writers get their work (and voices) out there and to contribute as much as possible to the writing and literary communities. We pride ourselves in our quick response time and monthly publication schedule. As writers ourselves, we understand how frustrating it can be to wait several months before receiving a response from most literary magazines. Or waiting to submit work to magazines that only publish once every quarter or once every year. We aim to change this in not only reviewing submissions and sending out responses quickly, but also publishing writing on the fifth of every single month without fail. We believe this helps many up-and-coming writers get their work out there faster. We can’t think of a better way to support the writing community.

Voluntary Fees: This project accepts voluntary fees for tip jar submissions.
Important: Wait at least five months after receiving a response before submitting again.
