The Avenue A Mid-Atlantic Literary Journal

See other projects related to this listing.

About

The Avenue is a print, Mid-Atlantic-based literary journal open to all things literary. We are committed to the quirky, the dark, the artistic, the tortured, the beautiful, the disenfranchised.

We believe that the community of writers and artists is one that is necessary for any success in artistic endeavors. As such, we want any interested in submitting to be open to the idea of attending and participating in literary events around the publication of the issue. We hope to host readings in cities all around the Mid-Atlantic region and want our contributors to attend these events, meet each other, shake some hands, get involved.

Fees Notice: This project charges fees (or requires purchases) for all submissions, and they do not offer monetary payment for accepted submissions. (Note: About 8% of magazines always charge fees.)
The fee is USD $3 (average for magazines that charge).

Before Submitting

We cannot guarantee that the information on this page is correct. It is not unusual for publications to evolve or close without notice. We do our best to keep up, but it isn't always possible. Duotrope listings do not imply endorsement or recommendation of the project being listed. Before submitting, you should use your own judgment to determine whether the project meets your standards.

  • Always read the full guidelines provided by the publisher.
  • Try to read at least one previous publication to get a better idea of what the editor would like to see.
  • Unless the publisher's guidelines state otherwise, always use industry standard manuscript formatting.
  • Be professional, patient, and persistent.
