About

Everybody has thoughts on the results of the 2016 presidential election. The aim with States of the Union is to create a book that will preserve the climate at this flashpoint. A home for what Americans are thinking at this exact point in history. The intent of the book is to explore the reactions and feelings of all people. With this book we are creating a safe space for expression; be it opposition or support of the election, the only requirement is that it be done without hate. The essential questions that are guiding the book and its contributions are "what are you thinking" and "how do you feel about the outcome of the election?" We want to capture the voices of all walks of life all reacting differently; the excited grandmother is as valuable to the success and resonance of this book as the scared twenty-something, as the trepidatious mother of four sons all of whom have differing perspectives. We want to preserve the feelings: hope, fear, shock, relief...we want them all documented. They will all be part of States of the Union, a time capsule of sentiments following November 8, 2016.
