Frontier Poetry 48

A project of The Masters Review (see other related projects)

Frontier Poetry began as an arm of The Masters Review, a publication that focuses on new and emerging fiction and narrative nonfiction writers. We wanted to offer the same quality platform for poets, to generate real visibility for new poets, but also wanted the publication to have its own identity. In this way, Frontier was born. We are looking for poetry that pushes language forward, for poets and poems that strive to place themselves at the edge of what language can do. But this does not mean that we are only concerned with experimental poetry. We believe that sonnets can be at the frontier, book-length poems can be at the frontier, confessional poetry can be at the frontier—as long as a piece is crafted with exceptional consideration for language & craft, that poem is a fit for us.

Before Submitting

We cannot guarantee that the information on this page is correct. It is not unusual for publications to evolve or close without notice. We do our best to keep up, but it isn't always possible. Just remember…

  • Always read the full guidelines provided by the publisher.
  • Try to read at least one previous publication to get a better idea of what the editor would like to see.
  • Unless the publisher's guidelines state otherwise, always use industry standard manuscript formatting.
  • Be professional, patient and persistent.
