About

Nimrod’s mission is discovery: the journal seeks new, unheralded writers; writers from other lands who become accessible to the English-speaking world through translation; and established authors with vigorous new work that has not found a home within the establishment. Nimrod serves the national and international community of writers and readers by presenting the best writing we find, whether it be experimental or traditional.

Fees Notice: This project charges fees (or requires purchases) for some submissions. Look for the fees icon.

Before Submitting

We cannot guarantee that the information on this page is correct. It is not unusual for publications to evolve or close without notice. We do our best to keep up, but it isn't always possible. Just remember…

  • Always read the full guidelines provided by the publisher.
  • Try to read at least one previous publication to get a better idea of what the editor would like to see.
  • Unless the publisher's guidelines state otherwise, always use industry standard manuscript formatting.
  • Include a SASE with all mailed submissions, queries, and requests for guidelines, unless the editor replies via email or guidelines state otherwise.
  • Be professional, patient, and persistent.
