About

Sad Girl Review is a contemporary art and lit magazine established in 2018. We’re publishing online only at the moment, typically twice per year.
We strive to showcase and celebrate the best in girly, melancholy material. We are fascinated by all things feminine and any lesser known or hidden stories. We are interested in challenging ideas about art: memes, emojis, new media, digital, conceptual work, and more. We are supportive of emotional explorations.
We are also aware that it is complicated to define words such as ‘woman’ or ‘feminine’ or ‘art’. Things are complicated and so are we. We allow our contributors to define for themselves what these ideas can mean, and we try to support various outlooks within every issue. Sad Girl Review is for people of all genders to share “girly” work, whatever that might mean to each individual contributor.
