About

We are an online prompt journal for music and prose. Each month, your response becomes the prompt. Here’s how it works: At the beginning of each month, we publish a new piece, either by a musician or by a writer. You will then have two weeks to create and submit a response. The goal is to alternate between music and prose — each piece inspired by the one that came before. It is ongoing! We will select one response each month which will become the next prompt. We aim for this site to be experimental and fun, a place where people can be inspired in unexpected ways. To keep the conversation between writers and musicians, no matter where they are in the world, ongoing.

Before Submitting

We cannot guarantee that the information on this page is correct. It is not unusual for publications to evolve or close without notice. We do our best to keep up, but it isn't always possible. Duotrope listings do not imply endorsement or recommendation of the project being listed. Before submitting, you should use your own judgment to determine whether the project meets your standards.

  • Always read the full guidelines provided by the publisher.
  • Try to read at least one previous publication to get a better idea of what the editor would like to see.
  • Unless the publisher's guidelines state otherwise, always use industry standard manuscript formatting.
  • Be professional, patient, and persistent.
