About White Enso is seeking short fiction, essays, creative non-fiction and artwork that encapsulates the Japan experience. Send us work that you are excited about-- an essay that encapsulates you, a short story that is engaging, artwork that you are proud of, writing that doesn't fit a genre but is screaming to be read. There are no boxes to check or criteria to fill. Be creative. Explore the possibilities that your mind offers. Say yes to experimentation with your creativity. All we ask is that your work relates to Japan. Yeah, that's vague, purposefully so. Your unique interpretation of "the Japan experience" is what we're looking for. What is the Enso? White paper, a calligraphy brush, black ink The Enso is an open or closed circle drawn in a single, fluid stroke during one complete breath. It represents everything and nothing, reflects the character of its creator at one moment in time, and symbolizes all that is and all that can be at any given moment. The art of drawing an Enso is purifying. It clears the mind. It cleanses the soul. It provides a path forward. Anything is possible. Why White Enso? Your work is the answer to that question. Share it with us.
