Another House This project is believed to be defunct. (April 2022) About "A story," Alice Munro once said, "is not like a road to follow...it's more like a house." For our magazine, we took Munro's theory that fiction operates like a furnished space, and we applied it not to an individual story but to a collection of them. Each of the stories in an issue of our magazine are spaces in an imagined house: some large, like a master bedroom, and others small, like a pantry or a closet. As you'll notice, the stories are not introduced by their titles and the names of their authors, but by the particular space they are meant to embody. Just as the arrangement of rooms in a house creates a network of relationships, so to do the arrangement of the stories presented here. Perhaps two rooms share a wall. Maybe the floor of one room is the ceiling of another. We hope that you'll honor the spirit of the magazine by moving freely from room to room, and that, in doing so, you'll enjoy the strange architecture of this place.
