Back Roads This project is believed to be defunct. (October 2007) About People fear the alien, the unknown, the strangeness that lurks in the unexplored woods… or down a two-rut roadway well away from the interstate. Back Roads is a fiction quarterly that aims to find out what lies along those untraveled byways, where civilization is a thin veneer stretched tightly across the hidden, savage face of man. Back Roads is rural horror. The 'zine concerns itself with the same kind of material that drives The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and continues to frighten audiences in films like Wolf Creek and Hostel. Back Roads is horror off the highway, where the normal rules do not apply.
