Barnstorm Journal

About

Barnstorm is an online literary journal that has been in publication for more than 15 years. Housed by the University of New Hampshire MFA Program, Barnstorm was founded in 2009 by MFA students with a mission to publish the best personal and creative nonfiction essays, short stories, poetry and art.

With a rotating editorial staff run by students across many genres in the MFA program, Barnstorm publishes work that encompasses ‘Barnstorm’ - work that is playful, takes risks, and harnesses energy. Featured artists and published writers are from all over the world.

Fees Notice: This project charges fees (or requires purchases) for some submissions. Look for the fees icon.
The fee is USD $3 (average for magazines that charge).

Duotrope listings do not imply endorsement or recommendation of the project being listed. Before submitting, you should use your own judgment to determine whether the project meets your standards.

  • Always read the full guidelines provided by the publisher.
  • Try to read at least one previous publication to get a better idea of what the editor would like to see.
  • Unless the publisher's guidelines state otherwise, always use industry standard manuscript formatting.
