About BRIDGE seeks provocative, well crafted short fiction of between 500-4000 words by newer and established writers. In broad terms, we eschew stories bound by expectations and allegiance to pre-defined schools, in favor of dynamic, risky material that forces the writer to take a stand on his or her intentions, rather than flooding the work with their authorial presence. Writers of culturally diverse or under-represented backgrounds are particularly encouraged to submit. All interested writers are urged to review a recent issue of BRIDGE to get a feel for our particular stylistic needs.
