Caboose This project is believed to be defunct. (August 2015) About Caboose is a journal like no other. Brave, bold, and bombastic. This is the end of poetry as we know it and the beginning of something else, something no one else is willing to set before the world. We mean that quite literally. Caboose seeks poems that dare to be not only bad, but truly awful. Poems that make us cringe and groan. Poems that crackle with a special type of terrible-ness that makes a reader heave a little in their mouth or bust a gut with irreverent laughter. Poems that feature things that never ever should appear together. You know, that poem you wrote about the girl you fell for at the bar that turned out to be a stuffed donkey. Or an ode to fecal bacteria. Or serial killers taking up competitive ice-skating. Remember, the poems need to be really really bad. After all, we have standards — we’re not afraid to reject your work if it doesn’t sink to an appropriate level of awfulness. Just being bland, boring, inept, or fumbling is not enough. Send us something train-wreck worthy. Think mind-blowingly bad. Overwrought. Dripping with bathos and mock-profundity. We’re waiting.
