Calamities Press This project is believed to be defunct. (March 2017) About We’d like to think we’re a lot of things here at Calamities Press, but in reality we’re nothing more that seven second moment of art and literature crawling down your newsfeed. We’re a synaptic response to short attention spans. A pixelated memory of poetry and imagery for you to drink in through your ocular appendages, which are assaulted by pixelated galaxies on an hourly basis. In short, we’re an all-digital online literary magazine with a hodgepodge of genres and styles, striving to reach the next generation of readers, writers, and artists molded to their touchscreens. We use our seven second attention span as a strength, and want to make sure the coming generations enjoy a good black and white photo or haiku. We like to publish Magical Realism, Slipstream, awkward non-fiction, serialized stories, web comics, and a galaxy of photography. We also have opinions; therefore, like to review things. We’re not masters of knowledge, but we’re getting there.
