City Shadows Permanently Closed: This project is permanently closed to submissions. We provide the following information as an archive. About The Theme: Stories accepted for CITY SHADOWS will utilize real American cities to tell well-written tales in the realm of speculative fiction. The title of each story will be the City in which the story takes place. We want to explore how the darker side of the “city” influences character’s lives. The Whys, Hows, Whens, and Wheres are up to you. What We Are Looking For: Well-crafted, character-driven stories. We want to get inside the heads of people experiencing the fast paced, often sinister side of urban settings. We want unique stories that stand out and make us think; tales that surprise us, tales that even inspire us. Horror, Sci Fi, Fantasy, Slipstream, Noir, what have you, we will look at it. Be original. Make sure you use an actual city.
