City Slab MATURE CONTENT Permanently Closed: This project is permanently closed to submissions. We provide the following information as an archive. About I’m always on the lookout for taut, multi-leveled urban horror. There is a uniqueness to life lived in an urban setting. Show me the grit and intensity of your character’s lives whether they are homeless, dope-fiends, or the well-to-do power brokers. Start the story with action. Don’t begin with your character remembering the third grade and think I’ll keep reading while you get around to the drug deal about to go bad. Capture the feel of your city (real or imagined) and have a powerful story to tell. Keep in mind the importance of the horror element if you’re writing a crossover with action, mystery, thrillers. While horror can be done without the supernatural element, I see too many of these tales. Steer away from the first person point of view.
