About On Wednesday 24th April 2024, Feral Angels Press launched a new quarterly poetry magazine featuring the kind of writing that I love to read and that I sincerely hope you love, too.There are a few different reasons for bringing Clarion into being.A (not very secret) secret: I don't like a lot of new poetry that I read. Sorry, if you're a poet, but I believe the situation is similar for a lot of readers. If only there was a magazine or journal which published poetry - and writing about poetry - that actually lit a fire in me or met my soul. That'd be something. So, this reason is self-centred. I want to find the writing I love.I want to build a community of skilled poets and passionate readers/listeners. There's a particular kind of poetry we love and tracking it is often a solitary path. I'd like to foster connection between writers and between readers and all across the creative and receptive boundaries, too. Clarion is an important part of this. This is all about connection.I want to use the platform of Feral Angels Press to support and amplify the voices of new writers whose work I love. In the goodness of time (probably next year), the press will publish work by other writers, but Clarion is another wing of that bird. This is about using my voice and, perhaps, about using privilege.
