About

Cola Literary Review is an annual print journal edited by graduate students in the MFA Program at the University of South Carolina. "Cola” is an affectionate abbreviation for Columbia, South Carolina, the city where our journal is based. We consider previously unpublished poetry and fiction, and our primary commitment is to publishing exceptional writing by diverse authors, emerging and established, from across national and international literary communities. Founded in 1993, Yemassee was a bi-annual literary journal, publishing poetry, fiction, and occasional creative nonfiction as well as chapbooks in both poetry and fiction. Beginning in Fall 2022, the journal has ended its chapbook contests, changed format to an annual journal of poetry and fiction, and changed its name to Cola Literary Review.
