CVNT

This project is believed to be defunct. (April 2026)

About

Here at CVNT, as in life, we resist easy answers. We resist simple definitions. We reject false divisions of sex & gender deemed “immutable biological reality” by servants of patriarchy, wealth, & white supremacy. We invite the multitudinous: the girls not picked, the razor-burned adventurers, the panicked first-time doubter, the well-tucked veteran, the post-op princess.

In short, CVNT exists for the solicitation, exhibition, advancement, & support of transfeminine writers. With so many voices, laws, & weapons raised in ignorance, hatred, or mistruth against transfeminine people, binary trans women, & genderqueer folks, it’s time we had our own “protected space.” What does “transfeminine” imply, exactly, you ask? CVNT will consider work solely by writers for whom the experience of transitioning into a conventionally “feminine” identity from a conventionally “masculine” (or otherwise) upbringing rings true in a fundamental & personal way. Nonbinary or part-time femme? We invite you to submit. Sort of an IYKYK situation. CVNT also encourages submissions from writers belonging to communities in which traditional conceptions of “feminine” or “masculine” (or neither, or both) differ from the Euro-American binary gender conventions; however, the staff can currently only consider submissions written in English (unless creative justification exists for partially multilingual work).

Before Submitting

We cannot guarantee that the information on this page is correct. It is not unusual for publications to evolve or close without notice. We do our best to keep up, but it isn't always possible. Duotrope listings do not imply endorsement or recommendation of the project being listed. Before submitting, you should use your own judgment to determine whether the project meets your standards.

  • Always read the full guidelines provided by the publisher.
  • Try to read at least one previous publication to get a better idea of what the editor would like to see.
  • Unless the publisher's guidelines state otherwise, always use industry standard manuscript formatting.
  • Be professional, patient, and persistent.
