About

Cypress Knee is an emerging national literary and art journal based in Charleston, South Carolina. We strive to highlight and encourage young southern voices by publishing them alongside new and established writers and artists of all ages from across the nation. The poetry, fiction, and visual art we publish notices, surprises, and changes. Other contemporary genres such as non-fiction and graphic fiction are welcomed and encouraged as well.

Collapse section Visual Art Believed Defunct

Each edition of Cypress Knee will feature a small portfolio of the work of one visual artist. The artist’s statement will be published along with the portfolio. It may contain both a visual analysis of your work as well as an outline of your own ideas about art today. Being Charleston based, we are not necessarily interested in watercolor paintings of Rainbow Row, Ravenel bridge, or the waterfront etc. We want to see the portrait of your world, whatever that means to you. We are interested in all media of work.
