Dead Letters Permanently Closed: This project is permanently closed to submissions. We provide the following information as an archive. About Dead Letters is a 'zine devoted to artistic and literary expressions of the zombie apocalypse, a horror subgenre pioneered by the films of George A. Romero and expanded upon by countless others in the intervening years since Night of the Living Dead's 1968 debut. Four times a year, Dead Letters strives to showcase the very best the walking dead subgenre has to offer, from stories to art to critical essays, expanding beyond run/hide/die, and demonstrating that walking dead stories provide a fertile ground for social commentary. As a character stated in the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead: "They're us. We're them, and they're us."
