About

Empyreal Tree is a Fantasy and Science Fiction Magazine that focuses on character-driven stories in unreal and impossible worlds. Our goal is to share stories that remind us of the hearth and warmth that comes from humanity, even within the dreary and lost. Our goal as of now is to release a magazine of four short fiction stories twice a year. We would love to read and delve deep into unique worlds that trigger excitement in our imaginations, while also sharing a genuine touch of people.

Fiction On Hiatus

Our main focus is genre fiction. From high, regal (or gross depending on how wealthy you were) fantasy to seeing bits of magic spark in a familiar, urban light, to weird machinations of science and technology that stretches to the unknown limit of humanity, we hope to build a refuge and haven for these kind of stories. As long as you follow the theme and follow the rules, we’ll be accepting most genre fiction. The main key difference that will separate us from other genre fiction stories, is that we’re looking for stories that bring comfort. In this day and age, there is a lot of dread and gloom lingering on our future, to the point it is bleak. Our time is quite bleak, but throughout the annals of history, people have and will continue to face horrible and difficult things. We are looking for stories that bring hope which flickers when others blind us, a warmth that can only be seen through the genuine touch within people. Of course, we are not looking for stories that is sickeningly full of happy moments and plastered on smiles. We’re looking for stories where in our moments of beleaguered thoughts, full of apathy and exhaustion, we can find something alive, warm, and honest. Stories that reminds us we are not alone.
