About

We are a new speculative fiction magazine with a focus on promoting voices from outside the normative orbit. Exoplanet: A celestial body labeled “other” by a self-declared normative point in space. There have been a growing number of special issues for big name magazines that focus on queer, POC, and other minority perspectives. These issues have been amazing, but no single issue of a magazine–no matter how vital it is–can be big enough to contain all of our voices. That’s why we started Exoplanet, to give marginalized voices a reliable place to thrive and be heard, a magazine for voices outside the mainstream to be published on a regular basis. Exoplanet seeks to stake our claim in the literary world at the intersection of speculative fiction and minority issues. Our message is simple. Even if people overlook us or label us “other,” we’re not only here, but we’re here to stay.
