About

Flip The Bird is a new online Australian literary journal that takes submissions from local and international writers, both new and established. It was created for writers who delight in defying convention! In other words, we like stuff that is EXCITING! ALIVE! …and DECIDEDLY ODD in the best way possible! We want writing that provokes, pokes, punctures and writing that floats away on it’s own Surrealist mind-trip. We like things that show the human condition through real felt emotion. Not to be confused with sentimentality! But to move the reader to feel, through gut and heart, to listen with their very pores, to you, the writer telling your story through word. We are looking for POEMS and SHORT STORIES.
