Ghost Furniture Catalogue

About

The Ghost Furniture Catalogue is a putative anthology of poems about furniture, devised by Bill Herbert and Sophie Herxheimer. Our sideboards began a promising dialogue in 2016, but as one lives in a Brixton kitchen and the other in a garage outside Dundee, it’s not been that easy to catch their muttered poetic drift. However since we, their human door-openers, co-tutored a poetry and collage course at the grandly furnished Arvon Shropshire HQ, The Hurst, our sideboards have decided that an online habitat might function as a good interim removal van, that might one day drive itself into the papery pages of a book.

We aim to create a sufficiently experimental architecture that can expand to accommodate any amount of ‘pieces’, from large sprawling poems descended from teaspoons, to tiny poems that skirt around a sofa-bed or a built-in cupboard.
