International Bulletin of Mission Research (IBMR)

About

The IBMR is a professional academic journal devoted to a sympathetic yet objective analysis and critique of the Christian world mission. The journal wishes to be forthright about the failures and limitations of Christian mission, while at the same time advancing an appreciation of the contributions of Christian mission to the world and its peoples. Articles that do not relate significantly to mission will not be accepted. To be accepted articles should be presented with academic objectivity, rigor, and care. This means that in addition to the quality of the text itself, an article should include appropriately supportive endnotes (separate bibliographies are rarely included). Articles of a general, popular, and/or exhortatory character are not accepted. Article themes range from mission history to analysis of current events and trends, and from mission theory and practice to mission theology. Mission biography enjoys a special place in the profile of the IBMR, as does archival research. Publishing and marketing of the IBMR is managed for the Overseas Ministries Study Center by SAGE Publications, London.
