About

In 1998, the Association for Mormon Letters started the literary journal Irreantum. The name comes from a Book of Mormon term meaning “many waters,” chosen to show this journal would welcome many different types of writing by, for, or about Mormons. Over the years, Irreantum has published poetry, essays, short stories, plays, reviews, comics, music, short videos, and literary criticism—all in a variety of styles, from historical to speculative, realistic to surreal.

Since the journal’s founding in 1998, new advances in technology have made it easier for writers of Mormon Literature in all its forms to find each other and an audience. With Irreantum now publishing online, we hope you’ll join us by submitting your work, finding pieces you enjoy, sharing with friends, and supporting us financially.

Limited Demographic: Submissions are restricted to those writing about the Mormon experience.
