Italiks A literary journal

About

Italiks is committed to showcasing quality work from writers of all genres, styles, and backgrounds.

We welcome creativity in all its forms, whether it's fiction, poetry, essays, or something entirely experimental - if it's your best, we want to see it.

We believe in a writer-first approach, meaning Italiks will never charge fees for submissions, nor do we solicit stories from established authors. We prioritize fast response times and clear, direct communication with our writers, ensuring every voice is heard. While we operate on a limited budget, our mission is to continually increase our impact, including offering better compensation for our contributors as we grow.

Italiks is dedicated to publishing great work using an accessible platform, and hope writers will be part of a growing literary community.

Before Submitting

We cannot guarantee that the information on this page is correct. It is not unusual for publications to evolve or close without notice. We do our best to keep up, but it isn't always possible. Duotrope listings do not imply endorsement or recommendation of the project being listed. Before submitting, you should use your own judgment to determine whether the project meets your standards.

  • Always read the full guidelines provided by the publisher.
  • Try to read at least one previous publication to get a better idea of what the editor would like to see.
  • Unless the publisher's guidelines state otherwise, always use industry standard manuscript formatting.
  • Be professional, patient, and persistent.
