The journal provides an outlet for world-leading research from across the globe dedicated to furthering the understanding of European literature and ideas since the Renaissance. The journal covers all nations and regions of the European Continent, including Britain and Ireland, stretching from the Arctic to Malta, the Urals to the Azores. Its disciplinary and interdisciplinary remit, based in the Humanities in Cultural Studies, is intended to be broad. The editors particularly welcome comparative approaches. The Journal of European Studies encourages submissions from a wide range of disciplines, including cinema, critique, cultural history, cultural studies, history of ideas, identities, minorities, modern languages, national literatures and comparative literatures, and translation.
