About

Fiction - indeed prose generally - needs to take us places by way of story or idea, and ultimately, surprise. Make us sit up and take notice of a wonderful play on language in your work, perhaps a fresh way of seeing, or an insight into character. Traditional and experimental writing is equally welcome, but not writing that requires us to pull out academic texts in order to translate your submission. All genres are accepted for consideration, but remember there will need to be a freshness on the page. Dare to be different, yes; to break with established norms, certainly; but don’t use that as an excuse for sloppiness. Pay attention to detail; pay attention to craft; give us evidence of superior writing skills.
