Fiction Closed

Writing may be on any theme and in any style. Of course, subjectivity being what it is, preference may be given to pieces which are touching and lyrical without being pretentious, or work that is darkly (or in fact lightly) humorous or anything that is just a rollicking good read. Some favourites include Jeffrey Eugenides, Vladimir Nabokov, JM Coetzee, Sylvia Plath, Charles Bukowski and the illustrious actor and novella-ist Steve Martin. If you dislike all of the above then it is unlikely our tastes are similar, but it’s always nice to be surprised isn’t it?
