orangepeel literary magazine About This publication began as an assignment in a publishing course at the University of Richmond in Virginia, USA. We had so much fun with our first issue that we decided to keep the train going, and we’re thrilled to continue the orangepeel story.orangepeel is a totally digital magazine inspired by the aesthetics of print literary magazines, especially those coming out of universities. The magazine’s goal is to give readers something they’ll remember. We all have those sentences that we remember when we’re falling asleep, those brushstrokes that we can still see in our heads years after viewing them. That’s what the pages of orangepeel are here for. Our staff also believes that many of the most memorable pieces are often prompted by the writer or artist’s own exploration of their memories. You’ll find that much of our work deals with nostalgia, mourning, and reflection on past events, though that certainly isn’t a requirement to be featured. In keeping with our theme of memory, it heavily influences our acceptance process. If a work sticks in our mind even when we’re not working on the magazine, that usually means it’s a keeper! Want more insight into the editors' preferences? Read our interview with the editor(s).
