About Penny Ante Feud posits a unique proposition for the writer, who writes consciously, out in the open, in full acknowledgement of the audience: we do not know when our words might be our last, if we were about to die, or, in a literary sense, never pen another phrase. Therefore, we ask contributors to send us a single poem to simulate this most desperate and perfect act. It is not to be taken purely literally but in the sense that sometimes we conclude not on a grandiose note but on the mundane. We like it to ring true, no matter the subject matter, however, but don't just send a poem about death. Please consider buying and reading a copy of our publication first. And, given the chance to prepare, we do expect your one poem salvo to be of premium quality. Of course, if at first you don't succeed, try again.
