Pumpernickel House Journal

A project of Pumpernickel House (see other related projects).

This project is believed to be defunct. (December 2022)

About

Pumpernickel House is a journal devoted to fairy tales and fabulism. We want work such as Angela Carter’s The Bloody Chamber, the blended magic of Amiee Bender, new looks at old tales such as that by Nalo Hopkinson in “The Glass Bottle Trick” or Carmen Maria Machado’s “The Husband Stitch.” Tell us a story that acts as the doorway between our world and the world of fantasy.

Fees Notice: This project charges fees (or requires purchases) for all submissions. (Note: About 8% of magazines always charge fees.)
