About

As an idea this creative venture of a “sister” publication to Coreopsis Journal was on the table for years.
Rose Spinne, artist, poet, and founding member of the Society for Ritual Arts, started the process really early in the organization. Sadly, Rose was diagnosed with cancer and didn’t live to see her contributions come to fruition. We miss her faery spirit and her wisdom. Rose also left copious notes and the editors hold the legacy of that vision as we work. May her spirit live on in these pages spinning new tales.
Rose created the name, Roses and Wildflowers imagining that the fiction featured in this journal would be the “roses”: climbers, ramblers, and tea roses forming the boundaries of a “beautiful garden of creativity” and the wildflowers the poetry and art “growing steadfastly with grace and fortitude” in all of the pathways and corners. So the journey began…
