About

Sapling Lit is an independent press running a literary journal. We were founded in 2026, by James Haugh, and strive to amplify the earth's voices. We want pieces of short fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction, that embody the theme of environmental activism however the writer decides to interpret that theme. Whether its an essay on sustainability, a vivid landscape poem, or a story from the perspective of an animal, you should submit.

We publish online and encourage anyone with a love for the environment, no matter what gender, race, sexuality, or age you are, to submit your work.

Voluntary Fees: This project accepts voluntary fees for “tip jar” submissions.
