Silly Goose Press (SGP)

About

Silly Goose Press is an online literary magazine that has an obsession with craft-forward whimsy.

What does that mean?

We care about high quality writing that considers the elements of craft (diction, syntax, plot, characterization, etc), and we want to work with writers that recognize that their craft is an art form. Whimsy, magic, and heart tie it all together.

SGP’s top priority is caring for and cultivating our community of writers and artists. We strive to form meaningful connections with each of our contributors and love to be their biggest cheerleaders (we honk pretty loud!) as time goes on. Soon, you’ll be able to check out a map featuring the home-nests of our writers—they’ve all flown in from so far!

Before Submitting

We cannot guarantee that the information on this page is correct. It is not unusual for publications to evolve or close without notice. We do our best to keep up, but it isn't always possible. Duotrope listings do not imply endorsement or recommendation of the project being listed. Before submitting, you should use your own judgment to determine whether the project meets your standards.

  • Always read the full guidelines provided by the publisher.
  • Try to read at least one previous publication to get a better idea of what the editor would like to see.
  • Unless the publisher's guidelines state otherwise, always use industry standard manuscript formatting.
  • Be professional, patient, and persistent.
